Big John has always been my hero. I remember the days in Longbeach. He was one of the heavy hitters and we all loved to watch him. Thank for the memories.

Great job Nick! I just read the article on Grandpa that you wrote for Car Kulture Deluxe magazine….what a nice tribute. I noticed a lot of firsthand information that makes this a special article. Your Dad is the best source as to what was happening behind the scenes! Keep up the good work and keeping his memory alive.

I grew up on Janine Dr. in Whittier and as kids we would always trick-or-treat at your house and beg for an autographed picture…and get it. Thanks!

Mazmanian family, I too just want to say thank you for such great memories from the past ! This picture of you at Lions Drag Strip brings a tear to my eye as this track has very fond memories for me. My sister and brother-in-law brought me to my first race there in the late sixties and got me to love this sport above ALL others ! Now I’ve been able to pass that torch on to my son and friends as well. Those sounds and smells are the best memories of my life, along with the most beautiful paint jobs you had are still burned in my heart. wish we could do it all over again…. Glad I was able to be a part of Lions history back in the day ! “Thank You”
