John Mazmanian was my hero growing up on the East Coast. We shared the same birthdate and we are both Armenian.
I took alot of heat from the guys about that, calling me Maz and all. What did they know. RIP big guy.

I grew up at Lions, Fontana, San Gabriel and Irwindale. It was always a treat to see John's perfectly prepared cars run. He and Stone Woods & Cook made my weekly trips to the track an exciting pleasure, I'll always remember. He was a great drag racer, and a very nice man.
