If I remember right, you were going to offer a model of the Willys. How’s that going. Thanks, Larry

Hi My Dad (Daniel E O’Regan) And John were friends, both growing up in East LA, (Soto st & 4th area) I think they both joined the Navy the same day, some of the best memories I have growing up are of going to the Drag races and visiting Johns shop and getting to sit in the cockpit of his funny car, I will never forget the 1971 Winter Nationals and the wheel stand Richard did losing to the Hawaiian, I was crushed!, God Bless

Love the new website! We have many Big John Mazmanian photos that we would be happy to share! As my husband Steve wrote, Big John was a larger than life figure to us both in stature and as a personality. During our lunch with him wherein we celebrated his 80th birthday, he was so full of life and stories from his racing days. It was obvious that racing was a HUGE part of his life – what kept him going. Our last words to him was that we loved him and wish him good health. It was a tremendous loss to us when he passed and we visit his grave on Christmas Eve along with my father-in-law’s. He will never be forgotten by this fan!
As for the family members, I am sending along good wishes. Mrs. Mazmanian was always very gracious to us and even provided verbal instructions for receipes while we visited in the pits! I still make Armenian rice with raisins per her instructions to this day!
My best to all of you sent with great affection.
